Currently I am working on a project that examines the role of social organisations in the social integration of refugees
Current research
Carlos has just completed a jointly authored book with Colin Samson entitled Indigenous Peoples and Colonialism: Global Perspectives (Polity). The book analyses the many common colonial processes which indigenous peoples experience under the dominion of states. It attempts to show that similar processes of dispossession and violation of rights occur in First and Third World Countries.
Settler Genocide and Christian Missions in Tierra del Fuego
Building from my previous research on Settler Genocide in Tierra del Fuego this project focuses on the social and cultural dynamics surrounding Christian Missions and their role in the process of assimilation and extermination of Indigenous peoples.
Negotiating Reception for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
I will conduct an ethnographic research project among organizations supporting asylum seekers and refugees across the East of England. I am interested in the way these organizations mediate in the process of asylum claims and social integration
